Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Park
This 9-acre park thoughtfully balances protecting existing wetlands with the creation of both passive and open spaces for the Oregon city community. The park features winding trails that meander through wetlands and an old stand of native White Oak trees offering connections to a variety of amenities. With over 20 feet of grade change, a large central grass area is a promontory overlooking the natural resources and new play area. The nature play area comprises hewn logs in a random pattern to provide a dynamic play feature, complimented by large stones excavated during construction. Flanking the expansive grass area are a new picnic shelter and restroom facilities, along with the city’s first off-leash dog run, enhancing the park’s recreational offerings.
