Treehouse

Located on Marquam Hill near Oregon Health & Science University, this apartment complex rises out of an existing forest, and the landscape is designed an area of respite near a busy medical campus. Outdoor areas merge with the existing forest edge, creating both places of social activity, at entries and a lower lever coffee shop, as well as areas of contemplation under the tree canopy. A stormwater treatment planter is embedded in the hillside slope. The rooftop deck provides panoramic views of the city and a casual outdoor atmosphere above the trees.
