Slabtown Marketplace

A large green wall interspersed with weathered steel panels announces the entrance to the Slabtown Marketplace in northwest Portland. An old renovated warehouse has been reinvented as a thriving market with a pedestrian plaza that serves as a forecourt to the grocery store and an important link to the adjoining mixed-use district. The promenade design includes custom timber benches, perforated weathered steel screens, concrete plank paving, and special concrete pavement treatments which reference to the industrial roots of the neighborhood.
