PSU Viking Pavilion

Located on Portland State University’s campus at the South Park Blocks, the Viking Pavilion renovated an existing structure to create a new basketball stadium and other athletic programs. The new Viking Pavilion, which faces the park, features a striking composition of grand stairs, linear terraces, and stadium steps that not only welcome visitors, but also serve as a venue for park events, like the Saturday Farmers’ Market. Roof runoff along the north side of the building is displayed through a series of custom scuppers, cascading into terraced stormwater planters that incorporate bike parking, seamlessly integrating sustainability and functionality.
