Patton Square Park
Portland, Oregon
Large canopy trees and an old firehouse converted to a cultural arts center provide the backdrop for this park renovation in north Portland. Its organizing elements are two main axial walkways that either arc or meander through the century-old trees. These paths lead to a play area adjacent to a large water tower, a small gathering space, and an amphitheater for outdoor performances.
