The Learning Garden

The Learning Garden is an intimate outdoor courtyard surrounded by the library and nestled within an existing woodland. This outdoor gathering space is a learning environment for children and parents alike. Seating stones are  scattered through the native garden, and a ­­circular brick seat wall becomes an inviting place for reading a story. Two bands of contrasting stone wind through the native garden to the central circle. A painted wood fence defines the garden edge, and is punctuated by a series of translucent light boxes backlit by the setting sun.
