CCC Health and Science
Salem, Oregon
As the home to the school’s allied health program, the site is designed as a living laboratory that promotes environmental stewardship, health, and healing. In the central courtyard, a healing garden features medicinal plants used by local Native American tribes, creating a serene space for reflection. Stone seating, and a brick plaza draw inspiration from the Kalapuyan tribal basketry patterns, honoring the region’s cultural heritage. At the main entrance, decorative steel downspouts collect rainwater that is filtered through wetland plantings of native rushes and Camas, enhancing the site’s sustainability and connection to the natural environment.
