The Wedge

The Wedge is a triangular plaza located at the nexus of the Burnside Bridgehead development in northeast Portland. The plaza provides a key linkage for pedestrians along the vacated Couch Street right-of-way and a vibrant entry plaza for a new mixed-use development. A series of long rectangular steel planters provide discreet seating areas intermixed with ornamental grasses. At night, the metal planters glow through a perforated pattern. This creates an exciting visual presence for pedestrian and drivers as they approach the Burnside Bridge.
