CCC Health and Science
Salem, Oregon
As the home to the school’s allied health program, the site is designed as a living laboratory for environmental stewardship, health and healing. Medicinal plants used by local Native Americans are planted in a healing garden within the building’s main courtyard along with stone seating and a brick plaza that alludes to the Kalapuyan tribal basketry patterns. At the main entrance, large steel cauldrons capture rainwater that is then filtered through wetland plantings filled with native rushes and Camas.
