200 Mesnager

200 Mesnager is a mixed-use development in an industrial area of downtown Los Angeles that has begun to evolve from industry to housing, office, and creative business. A central public plaza unites the surrounding retail, office, and residential spaces. Visitors find relief from the heat under the shade of the vine-covered oculus trellis. Mature vines were procured to jumpstart the shading effect, and native and adapted plant species were chosen to minimize water usage and highlight the diversity of ecological environments within the California landscape. A pool deck on level 2 overlooks the Los Angeles State Historic Park, and 3 other roof terraces on different levels give residents excellent views of the surrounding hills and skyline.
