Maryhill Museum

Goldendale, Washington

The Maryhill Museum of Art sits atop a bluff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Located on 4,000 acres of rolling terrain, the museum was the former home site of wealthy entrepreneur, Sam Hill. As part of the museum expansion, a large outdoor plaza and overlook were designed to reflect and showcase the stunning views of the Gorge, preserve the historic integrity of the site, and function as event or display space. The use of locally sourced materials in the plaza create resonance with the surrounding landscape.
