Maryhill Museum

The Maryhill Museum of Art is perched atop a bluff overlooking the majestic Colombia River Gorge. Located on 4,000 acres of rolling terrain, the museum was the former home site for wealthy entrepreneur, Sam Hill. As part of an expansion to create more gallery, storage, and auditorium space, a large outdoor plaza and overlook were designed to reflect and showcase the stunning views of the gorge, preserve the historic integrity of the site, and function as event or display space. The materiality of the space reflects the surrounding landscape and helped the project achieve its LEED Gold certification.
