A new pocket park at the corner of NW 15th Avenue and NW Glisan Street in Portland’s Pearl District is at the nexus of a number of transportation corridors and new development surrounding the open space. The Parklet is a pedestrian focused plaza with seating, gardens and a potential location for the City’s new Biketown/bikeshare program or foodcarts. A multi-colored paving pattern, brightly dyed wood benches, and flowering dogwood trees create a rich and textured landscape. The Parklet is visually engaging to passing motorists while also offering respite to visitors within the small plaza.
