Located along Portland’s waterfront, Field Office will become a catalyst for a new model of creative campus. The project is composed of two four to six story buildings that share a central plaza and multiple garden spaces. The common area is open to the public and will create a place of refuge in a busy and historically industrial neighborhood. The buildings and open space are inspired by the historic materials and forms of the area, which are integrated into a restorative landscape design. The planting design is made up of a series of native plant communities, from grasslands to forest edge, creating profound connections to the native environment. Features include stormwater rain gardens, outdoor seating pavilions incorporating fire bowls, and sunken seating areas.
